Friends--I had a good run. But someone here clearly needs some practice in regular blogging. (Raising my hand...) I apologize for several months of radio silence. You've been good about reaching out and asking for updates, I just haven't been good about sharing them.
Adoption is an ebb and flow of "hurry up and wait." July and August were periods of "wait" as our home study came together and our profile was finalized. September we became "active!" Expectant moms are currently able to view our profile, and may choose to meet us in person if they are considering us in their adoption plan.
Meanwhile, finishing our home study meant I was able to finally submit some grant applications! Grant applications are like college scholarship applications...but they want to know your net worth, your financial history, and how you're spending all your money every month. It feels like walking a tightrope--trying to show that you are financially stable enough to support a child AND prove your financial need for a grant application.
Y'all, adoption is expensive. A domestic infant adoption like ours will cost more than $30,000. We can lament in that fact, and be paralyzed or fearful of that number. Or, we can give that number over to God. We have a choice to trust in His goodness, in His leading, and in His provision. We have chosen--and must keep choosing--the latter.
I am excited to share with you that we have been accepted to receive a matching grant through an organization called Lifesong for Orphans! We have set a goal to raise $10,000 toward our adoption, and this grant will match the first $3,000 given to that goal. This is a blessing we are humbled to receive.

So now, I am humbled to ask you--our friends and family near and far--will you partner with us? Will you come alongside and be a piece of our adoption story? With a matching grant, $10 becomes $20. $50 becomes $100. Donations to Lifesong on our behalf are donations to a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization that is safe and will help to steward your money well as we need it for agency and attorney fees.
Visit our page (below) to give. If you donate $50 or more, you'll receive a tax-deductible receipt automatically. (If less than $50, you can still receive a receipt upon request!)
Y'all, timing and funding are both in God's hands. We trust Him to supply our needs in His timing. Thankful always for your continued support, encouragement, and prayers.
