Y'all, if you are curious, there's a lot to accomplish before our home study class. Jonathan and I are off work on Fridays, so we've been stacking up appointments for the next couple weeks to smash through some of our "to-do's." Today we...

  • (Kait) visited her new primary care physician for a new patient appointment, physical, and TB test

  • Submitted our local county background check requests (in person) at the McCordsville Police Department

  • Drove over to the Plainfield Police Department to pick up our local county background checks (notarized and on their letterhead)

  • Headed up to Fishers for fingerprinting appointments

  • Stopped to buy an expanding file folder to keep all our finished paperwork, copies, and receipts straight...the loose papers were getting a little unmanageable

We didn't realize how many background checks we needed (three types apiece, all done different ways!), and it has been important to plan ahead to schedule things out. Next week we're looking toward blood work, a second visit to Kait's new doctor, and processing our life insurance options. The glamour is real.

Behind the scenes, Jonathan and I are writing our bios and collecting photos for our adoption profile that will be shown to expectant mothers and collecting supporting documents to turn in. Piece by piece!
